VeroMetal® Antimicrobial kills bacteria and viruses on surfaces, even in the dark. VeroMetal® Antimicrobial is a metal coating with a stainless steel appearance, based on an alloy of copper. Our coating does not oxidize and has self-cleaning properties. A surface coated with our finish achieves an impressive killing rate of 99% in less than 30 minutes in UV light and within 60 minutes in the dark.
The latest VeroMetal® Antimicrobial finish ensures that every surface remains hygienic and clean. It also retains an immaculate stainless steel appearance, even after intensive use.

Hygienic and aesthetic
Copper has been known for its antibacterial properties since time immemorial, but copper is very sensitive to discoloration and oxidation. Even though the discoloration has no influence on the antibacterial effect of the copper, when it comes to hygiene, it conveys the wrong impression.
VeroMetal® Antimicrobial has a permanently clean stainless steel appearance, with the antibacterial properties of copper. In addition to being hygienically clean, objects and spaces will also remain visually attractive.
VeroMetal® Antimicrobial is a cold-workable liquid metal. The metal can be applied by a standard wet-paint process (spraying), using a spatula or rollers on almost any surface, inside and out.
The coating forms a wear-resistant, disinfectant layer. As long as the layer is present, the antimicrobial effect remains undiminished. Visual inspection of the coating is sufficient to monitor the antimicrobial activity.
Proven results
Many studies have been conducted. WFK Cleaning Technology Institute is one of the many organizations to have tested VeroMetal® Antimicrobial, confirming impressive results.
Antibacterial
VeroMetal® Antimicrobial shows very good antibacterial properties under exposure to light. Independent tests, show that the bacteria E. coli was completely neutralized within 30 to 60 minutes.
Virus-killing effect
The anti-viral properties of VeroMetal® Antimicrobial are extremely promising. Independent tests show that viruses* applied to a VeroMetal® Antimicrobial treated surface cannot survive for longer than 30 minutes.

Effective, even in the dark
Our coating is also active in the dark, this is effect of the metals and/or metal ions that are present in the coating. VeroMetal® Antimicrobial has its own antimicrobial capacity. Both sun and artificial light enhances the antiviral and antibacterial properties of our coating.
Self-cleaning action
VeroMetal® Antimicrobial also ensures an efficient breakdown of complex organic molecules, such as the dissolution of the layer of grease left behind from fingerprints. For optimal effect of the coating, it is recommended to clean the surface regularly.

Endless possibilities

Independent test results
VeroMetal® Antimicrobial can be applied to almost any surface, including; wood, metal, plastic, MDF, concrete and plaster. Glass, fiberglass, porcelain, earthenware, cardboard, paper, even a flexible surface are also possible.

The metal in the coating makes the layer very firm and durable. It provides a resistant aesthetically pleasing surface with a long service life.
History
VeroMetal® has been producing antimicrobial finishes to protect our health since 2004. The predecessor of VeroMetal® Antimicrobial is VeroMetal® Anti Bacterial made in copper, brass and bronze variations. All copper-containing metals, together with the special binder, form this unique antibacterial VeroMetal® coating.
This antibacterial coating is still excellent against pathogens, but treated surfaces will discolor as a result of touching, moisture and oxidation. Unfortunately, these are intrinsic properties of the metals in question. The new VeroMetal® Antimicrobial however, retains its stainless steel appearance and does not show this discoloration.
Years of research
Renowned testing institutes, have been conducting research for years on the spread of disease processors through the touch of essential utensils. Numerous European hospitals have equipped entire wards with toilet seats, door handles, door plates and light switches coated with VeroMetal® Anti Bacterial Copper.
The various surface finishes have been extensively tested. The test results for the antibacterial effect of VeroMetal® Anti Bacterial Copper are excellent. This crucial knowledge, experience and feedback forms the basis of VeroMetal® Antimicrobial.
